- Apply for an EIN (Federal Tax Identification number)
- Apply for a Virginia State Tax Identification number. (Virginia Department of Taxation Registration Unit P.O. Box 1114 Richmond, VA 23218-1114)
- Apply for Exemption from State and Federal Taxes (501 (c)(3) nonprofit status) IRS Form 1023 or IRS Form 1023 EZ Both forms can be accessed at on the Internal Revenue Service website. ($600 Form 1023, $275 Form 1023 EZ)
