The Foundation has provided funding for 3,789 scholarships for a total of $5,516,809. This scholarship provides benefits for all qualified high school graduates of Wythe and Bland Counties. Each student is required to provide 40 hours of volunteer service as a condition for the scholarship. This equates to over 42,208 hours of service that has been provided by those students since 2007.
The Wythe-Bland Foundation Scholarship Program will provide full tuition and fees (after all financial aid and other scholarship funds are applied) for qualified Wythe and Bland County high school graduates to attend Wytheville Community College.
To qualify, you must: Provide proof of residence in Wythe or Bland County for at least the two years prior to graduation; Have attended a public or private high school in Wythe or Bland County for at least the junior and senior years. When you receive a scholarship, you must: • Complete 40 hours of community (volunteer) service (20 each semester) with an approved agency by the end of the first year; and • Achieve a 2.0 grade point average by the end of the first year and complete 67% of all attempted classes to continue receiving the grant for the second year. |
